Location?
I think there is still alot of confusion about where the location is going to be this year. I think this would be a perfect opportunity to start a discussion/debate on finalizing a spot.
We need to get as many people as we can involved in this decision making process.
Personally I would love to see the location for Northtek 2008 held at the 2006 location, Lac Dumont. Ever since I went in 2006 I fell in love with the view/vibe.
Lets make this happen! Get involved :D

Well, I'm one fervent proposer of Lac Dumont location as I went there on 2006, and too felt in love with paradisaic place.
We are actually thinking into making a camping/scouting/road taggin trip on 13-14-15 june.
Anyone want to get together on this weekend to share beer and fire ?

Please, take it easy with that letter, peepz.

this is about one of the only websites im on. not much of a web surfer so im kinda out of the loop when it comes to digimunities. besides since when is the internet the only way to network and get stuff accomplished. i havent read much of what other people have to say about location issues but if theyre going to start complaining that there isnt one picked yet or that its too far, do it yourself. go out and find a local that you would like to dance and party in.
I believe the date for our
I believe the date for our escursion to maniwaki has been pushed back a bit. shit keeps hitting the fan and ruining any real chance to make a weekend of camping and exploration of the site. one chance that i'll have is between the 4th and 7th if not the weekend of the thirteenth. its pretty close to the festival but still a month in advance. if anyone feels that this is too short of a notice well sorry folks but its whats available as dates. any ways its not like that much could have reaallly changed im just anxious to go swimming in heaven.

into heaven...
how is the road? i may be coming with a smalish car hauling a trailer, would it make it into the site? would i spend the weekend digging out of a ditch or get stuck in 2 huge divets? would all my shit (figurative shit) get rattled to death?
inquiring me's wanna know.

cant wait to hear about the scouting adventure...
alright were back. got back
alright were back. got back in this afternoon from a weekend of "hard work" ill start with the good features and work down the list.
good: we made it, the spot is still there and still naturally beautiful as ever. weve even discovered a few other spots to make stages further down the beach but they are far and possibly need a different route to get there. also there was a place that i had no idea was there. large sized space for a bus sized soundsystem on the far right of the beach (past where the breaks stage was.
route: the roads are in fairly good condition just a few spots where driving needs to be done with caution but any danger is easily avoidable. there are 3 spots with water in the road due to the swamp and recent rain thats past. its about 4 inches deep at the worst and there should be no fear taking your car or whatever through. the beaver dam that was indicated on the directions is still there but seems to have shrunk in width. it would be big enough to get pretty much any vehicle over but CAREFULLY. other than that the routes are fine. weve used colourful string to mark the way in but i feel that its a bit hard to see so keep your eyes open. sorry but its all i had in a short time that wasnt like all the other orange and blue tapes.
bad: apon arrival we discovered that more people know where paradise is than thought. the place was pretty much full of campers and quads. the crazy 4 wheelers are crazier than ever and it seems as though there may be some people that have set up a semi temporary camp and will be back throughout the summer. at 8 am yesterday we were woken by dum rednecks starting and reving there quads and dirtbikes and they dont seem the be the kind of people that give a shit about anything. however beautiful, the beach looks like a dump with pretty much anything you can imagine thrown into fires and left behind for mother nature to clean up. i mean seriously who the hell leaves 2 perfectly good tents and a brand new sleeping bag for grabs. anyways i got me a tent and after moving from right above the 4 wheelers it was a wonderful weekend and i say go for lets do it.
the only thing is that i really really really recommend that anyone wanting to set up a sound system should get there friday night at the latest because from what i saw campers will be replacing soundsystems quite quickly.
so thats that. its still there its still usable just needs to be cleaned up A LOT and we have to work around the locals. so its up to you all now. in favor or apposed?

Space for sound systems
I think the point we need to stress more, is to arrive early if you want to have a sound system space. As big trailers tends to park in the best spots at the beginning of weekend.
We'll probably leave on thursday for teknival this year, but we don't have any sound system with us.

Early !
According to these statements, we must get there the most lately...before the week-end. If I'm right, all of the goods places aren't occupied yet in the week ? And What's about the spots of the local campers, is it near of ''teknival space'' ? At the moment, I suggest this place if we have a ''environmental team'' in rotation to keep the place clear of the ground pollution with collecting stick simply. Thank you my friends, your initiative was more than helpful. By the way, can we have photos of the passage to get there and also of the ''Northtek space'' ?

We don't have any photos.
As for the good spots for sound systems, they are suggest to be taken early by big camping rigs.
When we were camping there, all people left on sunday night, so I believe that there should be no problem to use those spots on thursday night.
The only picutre i got is a high res google map satellite picture ripped from internet.

these are the forecasts for the weekend:
thurs 10: 22 deg, sunny with some clouds
fri 11: 21 deg, sunny with some more clouds
sat 12: 25 deg, sunny with a bit of rain
sun 13: 31 deg, sunny with some clouds
mon 14: 28 deg with what looks like a good chance of rain.
these may not be too too accurate because the little weather graph isnt always the simplest and the weather can also easily change quick but if what the scientists say is true than we'll be having a damn good weekend.

i've just finished making
i've just finished making some beautiful 23 signs to mark the route through the forest(now come with arrows, so keep your eyes open for pieces of cardboard with 23 on 'em and make sure to follow the directions as well. if you find yourself on a beautiful sandy beach without seeing the signs, its cause youre there before us. leaving thursday morning at 8, should be there around 3ish. see you all there.
we're naive to think that words are the simplest form of commucation.
looking forward to seeing y'all there.
we are probably going to show up fri afternoon and hopefully find a good spot to set up our soundstage camp. thanks for getting up there and getting the signs to guide us all in.
looks like a good weekend for it. not crazy hot, wet enough that there won't be a fire ban.
right on!
