Freedom for Fighters

Are *you* really free? Are you doing what you want to do? what you love to do? what makes your life, despite all obstacles, worth living? What have you had to overcome... discover... give up... construct... destroy... rebuild... create... that brings you to where you are now? What stories do you have to tell? What example have you made? What changes would you make? What are you doing to take full advantage of your rights and privileges? What are you doing about the freedoms that you don't have?

Ok ok enough questions...

Some people love football or rockstars, others love Jesus... I love TEKNIVAL! I love the ass-clenching adventure, camping in the middle of nowhere with more electronics than food... meeting freeks by admiring their chaotic awesomeness and methods of transportation... If there has been any evolution of the way we think and live our lives, TEKNIVAL is a living speaker-loving demonstration of solidarity.

whoops... more politics!

Due to the increase in popularity of "limitless possibilities" experts have predicted a lot of nothing. But I don't believe in nothing! I have faith in the human race to be somewhere between slightly above a virus and on top of, or eventually below, the earth. We are definitely onto something! Every time I start to believe people totally suck, I find another reason to love you. Despite all the garbage and habitual consumption, some people actually have time to do something amazing! Sometimes even for other people!

sorry... damn drama!

Northtek is a teknival that happens in North America, or that has happened in Ontario and Quebec, Canada. A teknival can happen anywhere, and does. This is a global perspective. The point is to bring people together, out of their collective comas, and into their own self-made spotlights.

So what brings you here? What are you bringing to Northtek?

I know you’re busy, but please take a minute to write something on the site… a book, a blog, a story, ANYTHING!

Yes, I know about facebook and myspace… I know they have ‘groups’ and photo albums and page layouts and all your bits mapped and categorized, but I’ve always preferred sleeping in my own bed. Does our entire life and how we communicate with each other have to be owned by Google? What happened to variety?

If you have any feedback, suggestions, complaints, questions, etc…

All I did was build a website,
